Welcome to 2025

I imagine everyone has had their fair share of adventures over the break. Whether that be a stay-cation or traveling around this beautiful country, getting back into work and routine is an... adjustment.

I am no different. I spent the Christmas period at home reading, painting, weaving and napping. It was bliss. The past few weeks of this new year I have been out on my own adventures with family and friends road tripping around the lower North Island (snaps to come).

Finding motivation after the holidays

To help you come back to work in the right frame of mind, we have some tips on how to stay motivated, keep yourself sane and happy, and achieve some wins on your first day back. If you’ve already got through day one / week one by now, well done!

Here is a throwback blog, that is still totally relevent! I hope it helps if you are struggling with getting back into your work routines.

Latest Projects

Illustrations for Women's Refuge

Last year before the holidays I mentioned I was working on a project that was absolutely aligned with my values. While I cannot say too much about the overall project and final product, I AM able to share some of the illustrations that tell the individual stories of 6 women through a mix of photography and doodles. I love them so much! The idea is to create connection without using any one person's face.

Out and about

My gorgeous nieces visited a few weeks ago which gives me the perfect opportunity to boss them around all in the name of 'getting the shot'. We visited the Wairarapa and frolicked in the Lavender fields, took beach walks and generally went on a bit of an adventure on the other side of the Tararuas.

I also managed to visit a few exhibitions in Wellington. The stand out for me was Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery at Te Papa. Vivienne was a pioneer of Punk and commented on the context of the 1970s British economy, politics and social issues through her creations. It's well worth a visit if you find yourself in the capital this summer.

Reflections this month

  • Stay-cations are under rated.

  • I can't NOT do something creative on the daily. Creativity is in my DNA, this took the form of painting and weaving during my stay-cation.

  • I'm grateful I could do absolutely nothing over the Christmas break, simply because starting back on the 6 January has been hectic juggling of work and fitting in summer adventures. It was quite the shock to the system to go from couch potato to busy wanderer in the space of a few days.

  • As always... I can't help but chase bees and blooms, there is just something about them that brings me so much joy. I am not one for the heat of summer, but a bloom or a bee will get me out there and amongst it.

Boo the Dragon

Boo has been enjoying sunning herself in the garden recently, though never impressed with being put on a leash, what dragon would? Dragons do not belong on leashes, that said, if she doesn’t want to be eaten by a bird, or get lost, a leash is a must.
