March is all but gone. Milestones, birthdays and International Women's Day celebrated (twice!). I have a cake hangover but my cup is so full. Thank you to those who popped into the office to celebrate 10 years of Lemonface with me, utterly incredible, Stiletto Studios created the ultimate embodiment of Little Lemonface, skinny little legs and all. Gravity-defying.
Mornings are getting cooler, the leaves are turning some gorgeous colours and starting to drop. Autumn brings me a sense of calm after a busy summer, I suddenly feel like my year is beginning. Is that weird?
This month has been super busy finalising those last few projects that got started in late 2024, I'm happy to be able to share some of them with you as well as tease a few that are coming to fruition in the next few months.
Latest projects
From packaging to publications, websites to illustrations, it has been a hectic month of great projects wrapping up.
Foxton Beach Community Centre is online
Foxton Beach Community Centre's website went live at the beginning of the month. The website is a one stop shop for all of the information you need on the happenings at the Centre, donations can now be accepted through the website to help the team do their good work in the community, or even contact them if you are interested in volunteering. The site is super friendly, welcoming and most importantly, accessible. We went with a bright, fresh look that is a little 'beachy'.
Lewis Farms packaging
If you have been to Lewis Farms recently, you may have seen the new frozen berry packaging. Gorg, simple, and definitely stands out. I do love the amount of 'white space' or black space in this instance, it allows the strawberry graphics to stand out on the shelf. The back of the packaging has a lovely personal message from the Lewis whānau who grow their berries with pride in Horowhenua.

Women's Refuge research
I've really really really really enjoyed working with the Women's Refuge Research team to design their crucial and important research documents, illustrating the data collected so that people can understand the research as easily as possible.
This latest research is part of their Safer When, Safer How? series and is based around Traumatic Brain Injuries and Intimate Partner Violence in Aotearoa. You can see and read the whole document here.
Out and about
International Women’s Day
We were spoilt with TWO International Women's Day events this year, one in Kāpiti and the other in Horowhenua. In Kāpiti we heard from Barbara Dreaver who talked about some of the trickier spots she has been in during her career (if you ever have the chance to hear her speak, GO!) and officially launched the celebratory 5 year edition of the Womanhood Journal.
In Horowhenua, we heard from local women who shared their diverse stories, including the office besties, Karli & Helen from Get Content. The Horowhenua Company put on a wonderful afternoon and also launched the Womanhood Journal, I love how this event focuses on the Womanhood Journal and women's stories.

Whanganui
I've been planning to spend a day in Whanganui for months, although I didn't get to spend as much of the day there as I had hoped, what I did see, I fell in love with. I think I've only scratched the surface. I wanted a day of art and culture, tick. I visited Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery and wandered the exhibitions, pleasently suprised with how well curated the art was. On the original part building, the traditional and classical, on the other, more modern part of the building, modern art.
There is currently an exhibition of ceramics, artist Paul Maseyk has created a series of ceramic jugs taken directly from New Zealand Paintings, from traditional still life paintings to more abstract and cubist works, I thought that this was such an out of the box and creative project. I'm looking forward to planning another 'Whanganui day'.
Reflections this month
After reflecting on 10 years Lemonfacing, and taking a moment or two to be present, I realised I'm where I want to be in my business, doing projects I feel aligned. Yay.
I need to get out more. What I mean by that is, maybe taking a day a month to explore a different town or city.
Thankful for good friends, colleagues and clients, especially unicorns or bake epic birthday cakes.
Mother nature came out to play for my birthday, it was breath taking. I so wish I had my good camera, the ol' phone had to do (below).
By doing the excerise of reflecting back on 10 years and creating a few timeline graphics, I have been asked to talk about how I have managed to thrive in chaos. How cool!
Secretly, or maybe not so secretly bricking myself about talking in public.
Jumping for joy that I have finally booked my trip of a lifetime and grateful that I am able to do so.
Lemonface Lens
@lemonfacelens is a Lemonface outlet for creative expression, a place for play and joy. Here are a few views through the lens that stood out for us this month.
Feeling inspired by the flower study I saw at Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery, I took some pictures of my birthday bouquet in slight decay. Very autumn. Very spectacular.
Boo
Unfortunately for all Boo enthusiasts, there is very little to share. Boo has been in brumation all month. So here is a throwback of a more energetic Boo, stuffing her face.
